Join artist, Rosalba Breazeale, for a two-hour Anthotype printing workshop to celebrate Earth Week! This in-person workshop will take place Sunday, April 19nd from 2pm-4pm at 205 Ocean Avenue in Portland, ME.
Anthotype printing is an ephemeral photographic process that uses the photosensitive material of plants and the UV rays of the sun to create an image in a wide range of colors. No experience is necessary to create photograms. Advanced image makers are also welcome. A basic “how to” guide on digital negatives for anthotype printing will be provided upon registration along with additional information about the workshop and optional supplies.
Participants will:
Learn how to create a photogram or representational image from inkjet negative from plant pigments
Create at least two Turmeric anthotypes
Coat additional paper to take home for future print making
Required Materials:
Two dimensional objects for making photograms (ex. plant material such as leaves, flowers, stencils, other flat objects with interesting sillouettes)
All other materials will be provided.
This workshop will take place outdoors rain or shine. A tent will be provided in case of rain. Please come dressed accordingly.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel more than 7 days before the beginning of your workshop, you will receive a full refund. Cancellation with less than 7 days notice will result in a half refund.
